Love Temecula....HATE the traffic!!! I dont think they planned this out very well.I have been here since 1990 and I dont think they realized just how well this area was going to take off.Sometimes I still think they dont realize it.New shopping centers are going up all over with very popular stores and very small parking lots,with very small parking spaces...a good example is the Trader Joes parking lot in Temecula!!Dont go if you have a BIG car!!! Its just crazy going to Temecula anymore.I still go but I am very careful about what time I go.One more thing..what do you think about the exit at Winchester road?? How many more accidents have to happen there before they do something about that???

Fanny, as long as you keep me in SCa. I'm pretty much happy.
I love the "vacationy" feel temecula has. when my son was younger we went down to old town all the time.
The only complaint is over 100 degree weather., but even that is better than Mass. where i came from.

Temecula is a great place to live. The one downfall I see on a daily basis is "SDS" (Stupid Driver Syndrome)

I can't tell you how many times I've avoided an accident because of people not paying attention.

I agree with you Fanny regarding the Winchester exit. It's terrible. I heard a rumor that the city was planning on fixing the offramp.

a rumor? I think I heard that too.They have been talking about that since about 2005,we went to a hearing about that way back when,after a boy got killed,rear ended on that off ramp by a semi truck. ....the thing that gets me is that that poor kid dying wasnt enough for them to do anything about the exit! How many accidents is it going to take I wonder?

Moved here just awhile back from Hawaii. I love that it's such a family-oriented kid place! I have a 9 year old daughter. The neighborhoods are absolutely beautiful, with plenty of parks and walking/biking trails.

Dislikes? Well, I haven't found it to be very friendly compared to the MANY other places I've lived. I'm getting involved with lots of community activities, so hopefully that ill change.

I really miss my book club! Maybe some others are interested in a monthly potluck/book discussion/fun get-together? Thanks!

I can understand what you mean by the community not being very friendly. I think a lot of people around here are so busy working that they forget to slow down sometimes. A majority of people's commute time to work is well over 1 hour each way. I think that tends to cause a lot of tension. Combine that with the downturn in the housing market and you've got a recipe for bitterness

Hopefully this website will help people connect.

I recommend you start a book club in the group section of this website. I'm sure you'll get a good response.

Other than the oblivious drivers and the Winchester exit I have very few complaints. I come from a town where it wasn't unusual to see a high speed police pursuit out your livingroom window so I'm really loving the 'quietness' of Temecula. I love that it's so close to the beaches and that San Diego and L.A. are close enough to drive to without being too close. The people I've met have been friendly.
My only concern now is that, after almost a year, I'm still trying to find employment. I go out every day for 4 or 5 hours handing out my resume and applying everywhere that will accept an application but so far no luck. I'm an optimist though so I'm gonna keep at it til I find something

Yes, Temecula does have A LOT going for it! I agree the location is great.

Good luck with the job hunt. As you know, the economy is terrible right now. Keep pushing yourself, something will come up.

Jobs things are hard right now we know.It took my husband 3 months to find something.Everyone is trying to get hired right here where they live cuz no one wants to drive to work,understandable,right.
There is a new shopping center opening up with LOTS of stores at the newport and 215 exit in sun city,my husband just got done painting it! Anyway there is a super target and lots of other stores and they are ALL hiring if anyone is looking for a job,even if it is a "Just Until Job"(thats what i call a job you have until you find something better)

Im quite happy we moved here. I love the neighborhood I live in. I can't wait to take the kids Trick or Treating.

I really don't have any complaints about the city yet...I've only lived here for about 3 weeks now, but I have noticed that people speed a lot out here. I know CA is notorious for speeding, but here I get tailgated a lot, and Im going about 5 over the speed limit. God forbid I have to slam on my brakes. YIKES!!

Paul, you are absolutely right about not too many people taking the time to slow down. Such a shame too, with this beautiful weather and all. Maybe with the fall season approaching more people will "chillax"! LOL.

Yes! I love the neighborhood I'm in, too (Vintage Hills.) It's about the nicest, most pedestrian friendly I've ever lived in. And the trick-or-treating is the best! Everyone seems to decorate a lot.
Halloween is my husband's birthday so he gets to stay home and hand out candy!!!
