Hi- new to town- what's your favorite thing to do as a family here in Temecula? And how do you feel about the possibility of a new waterpark being constructed here?

Water Park?! That would be great! But I hope it is a rea;;y BIG one because everyone from Oceanside down will be coming to it.There is none anywhere around here. The closest one is in Irvine and then in San Dimas,so if this is closer they will all come here. I hope they plan it out right and prepare for the HUGE crowds it will bring.Might be nice...might be a disaster

Yeah, I read about it in the business section of the paper the other day. It's being talked about for the land that originally was supposed to be for the university, tho I don't know where that is. It's at least 2 years away, and only in the talking stages.

well they do need more family things to do.They have Bowling in Murrieta IF you can get in around the bowling leagues. They have this new place in Elsinore..I'm not sure what it is called but it is on Mission Trail where the K-mart used to be.I think they have bowling and arcade games and some other stuff.I have not heard anything good about it,it seems to be the place where ALL the teens hang out! No parents if you know what I mean,I have a 7 yr. old so not for him. Then there is Mulligans..pretty busy unless you go during school hours but its ok.The water park would be great ..just hope it is done well and with much thought.
I think it is going behind Gold's Gym off Ynez just down past the court house. Over in Hemet..where the new lake is there is a small water play ground...a jungle gym with slides in the water for little ones..its $6 per person,I havent been yet but would like to check it out before summer is over.

If you are willing to drive to Vista (south on the 15, I believe between hwy's 76 and 78) there is The Wave waterpark. It's not quite as far as San Dimas and Irvine, but not quite as much to do as the larger waterparks. Although we went to Raging Waters in San Dimas in August and the whole gang pretty much had a blast, but, going there with small children is not the best value either as there are only so many rides a 4 year old not at 48" tall can do yet.

Oh, I didn't realize there was one in Vista! Smaller CAN be better, too, since you don't completely lose your kid.
Thanks for mentioning it, I think my 9 year old would love it, especially as it's not such a long drive as the others!
